Start with the temple precinct. Choose a museum or hall visit according to your interest in Buddhist art.
Continue to the Great Buddha Hall for the day’s central temple visit, with time to appreciate its monumental scale.
Pause for lunch and a stroll through the park. Observe the deer calmly and follow local guidance if you choose to feed them.
Walk toward the shrine through its lantern-lined approach. Adjust the distance to suit your group’s energy and mobility.

Choose a different focus
Trade a temple stop for Naramachi’s traditional streets or the Nara National Museum. Horyu-ji is better planned as a distinct extension with extra transport time.
